Candy Buffet = Big Hit!

I’m so glad everyone enjoyed our nostalgic Candy Buffet! I kept hearing comments like “I haven’t had Pop Rocks since I was little” and “I didn’t know they still made Rain-Blo Gum”! I probably had a good 60-70 pounds of candy for our estimated 200 guests and we surprisingly had a decent amount left over. I bought most of the chocolate at Sam’s Club and the rest I ordered from Old Time Candy. The awesome name logo came from elle Z designs of course, (in case any other brides are interested orders are now being taken!)
I decided trying to do only color coordinated pink, orange, black & white was just NOT going to work. I also thought using scoops and containers was going to be too much of a hassle. I am very pleased to have used only completely wrapped candy so you didn’t have to worry about grubby hands dipping into the candy. Ew!
Plus, it was really easy to setup and tear down at the end of the night. We were sending people home with entire containers full and we ended up with a good 4 large containers afterwards!
This was probably one of the big favorites of our reception and I would highly recommend it to other brides.
How Exciting!!
First, THANK YOU to everyone who continues to upload photos to our flickr account! If you have digital snapshots from our wedding and have not already done so, PLEASE contact me on how to upload them to share!! I love logging on and finding new photos! Feel free to add some comments too – we’d love to hear your thoughts and memories!
I’ve been talking with a writer from QC Magazine and I’m super excited that she may use some of my tips and ideas for an article she is writing for the (hopefully) January issue about how brides personalize their big day and make everyone feel included. Of course I had a million suggestions but maybe I’ll be lucky enough to see one or two.
I’ve also had such great comments on all my hard work on wedding projects that I can’t wait to find time to get back to work with elle Z designs so I can provide tips, instructions, and even offer my creative services & personalized products for other brides and big events! Some of you may notice I’ve revamped the website a bit and I have plans to expand it even more as soon as I can. Gotta get this MBA out of the way!!
For those that attended, what was your favorite part about our wedding?
For any reader, what do you remember most about your wedding or someone else’s wedding?

I am SOOOOO excited to share our video trailer with you!!! I can’t stop watching it; My mouth is watering for the rest of the footage from that day. I already know having Matt from MediaInnovations is by far one of the best investments we could’ve had for such an important day.
Wedding S.O.S
Probably the most upsetting part about this weekend is that Andy’s Mom lost a huge portion of her digital photos she took, mostly at the reception.
We cannot figure out what exactly happened or how to recover them, if it’s even possible.
Please, please, PLEASE….if you captured any digital snapshots of our wedding (ceremony or reception) we would GREATLY appreciate it if you took a few moments to share them with us by uploading to our Flickr account. If you did not take home the Flickr instruction cards that were set around on the tables please e-mail us at wedding@themeckleys.com (P.S. this address is only a temporary e-mail account) for instructions on how to upload your photos to our Flickr.com account.
Thank you so much in advance.
Check out the photos that are already being uploaded: http://www.flickr.com/photos/themeckleys/
P.S. I also just got word that Veronica’s son Jason cannot find his black PSP that he had at the reception. We’re hoping it was just misplaced or maybe packed away in one of their bags but if anyone happened to find this expensive little gadget please let us know.
Thanks.
We Did it!

It was THE most wonderful weekend in my life; everything went smoothly and any minor glitches were only noticed by me.
When I can find a spare moment (since it’s back to life as usual and by “life as usual” I mean HOMEWORK) I can’t wait to fill you in on all the wonderful details of one of the most important and perfect days of our life.
