Buffalo Chicken Dip

This was such a hit at the party last night…er, um, it’s past midnight so I guess I mean, on Saturday night that I thought I’d post for all to enjoy. Super easy, super delicious.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

8oz Cream Cheese
1/2 Cup Dressing (Ranch or Blue Cheese (gross) - I used Ranch)
1/2 cup Frank’s Red Hot
1/2 cup Shredded Cheese
2 Chicken Breasts, Cooked & Shredded (or you can use canned chicken)

Mix ingredients and heat until bubbly (works great in a crockpot). Once it’s been heated and mixed you can chill and serve cold if you like; it’s great both ways! Great on crackers, chips, celery, or even a spoon. Oh yeah. I’ve totally taken a naked spoonful. And it was everything I hoped it would be. :-)

New Decals at the Meckley House

Here are some new vinyl decals I put up:

“Whatever souls are made of his & mine are the same”

“You’re everything I never knew I always wanted”

When I first read this quote I thought it explained perfectly how I felt about Andy…
(among many other things) a 6′2″ blonde hair blue eyed farm boy. Who’da thunk it?! :-)

“Everyone brings joy to this house…
(Some when they enter, some when they leave”

Andy’s not too fond of this one…I think it’s a bit too sassy for him. I think it’s funny! :-)
All in good fun.

Housewarming Party / Shower #2

Wow! What a great party! The weather couldn’t have been better, the food was excellent, we had SO MANY people show up last night and we had such a great time!!! Although it wrapped up relatively early, we were both exhausted by the end of the night and we had a ton of smoked meat and other food left.

Look at this awesome brownie Aunt Pam made – hot pink cream cheese and double fudge icing!!

A HUGE thank you to Kim, Aunt Pam & Renee. We had more than enough food, everything was setup and ready in time, the whole party was flawless. I came in at the end of the night to clean and organized kitchen, which was such a relief. We got up this morning and only had a little bit of cleaning to do.

Of course, we got a TON of wonderful gifts. I feel bad that we didn’t get around to opening gifts with everyone here…there was a mix of people who wanted to see but I know there were many (mostly the men!) who didn’t really care to sit in on the gift opening. So, we apologize to those who did want to watch. We took some photos and here’s a rundown of what we received:

  • Lots of booze – wine, margarita mix, flavored vodka, & more :-)

  • Bar glasses, ice bucket, shaker, wine toppers, etc.

  • Mums

  • Paper towel holder

  • Drawer Organizer

  • Kitchen basket with hand towels, dish towels, pot holders

  • Appetizer displays & plates

  • Rachael Ray pots & pans

  • Lettuce Keeper

  • Tobi Steamer

  • Photo frame

  • Baskets

  • Salt & Pepper grinder

  • Gift cards – Visa, Menards, Red Lobster

  • Throw blanket

  • Candles

  • Dog Treat jar

  • Wine Caddy & Glasses

  • Covered Roasting Pan

  • Grill Spatula

  • Can Opener

I think (hope) I covered it all!

Thanks again everyone! We had a wonderful night and appreciate all the lovely gifts.

Shower #1

Andy’s family threw us a very nice shower last weekend (thanks again Resa & Marsha!!) and I got the opportunity to meet some of his Florida family. We received many wonderful gifts. Here are some photos from that day:

(Love the colors!) ;-)

Some of our gifts included…a digital toaster, appetizer displays, glasses,
dishes, cutting board,

vanilla and raspberry vodka (perfect for fabulous martinis!), photo frame,
shop vac, and so much more.

I got my KitchenAid mixer! I have wanted one of these forever! My grandma
has one and it when I was little I would spend the night and make cookies with her.
We have the perfect kitchen too…now I just need to find the time. :-)

Andy got Guitar Hero III, with the Aerosmith game!

The night before we attended a wedding which gave me a chance to double check I hadn’t missed anything. (Andy brought up something pretty important…the marriage license! Okay, need to get that on my list of things to do for sure!) I cannot believe that I forgot my camera at home that weekend. Ben & Casee’s wedding was wonderful. The ceremony was short and sweet (the best kind!) and everything was gorgeous. Their colors were black and gold and I was excited to see the bridesmaids in black. Of course, I’m biased. :-) They did an awesome job on centerpieces; there were a few different styles so not every table was the same. I really liked the variety.

It was a really good weekend. The weather was great, we got a chance to party with friends and then relax with friends and family the next day. It doesn’t get much better than that! I’m just putting the finishing touches on things to hopefully do it all over again this weekend at our new home so stay tuned for more!!

Whatever Will I Do Once the Wedding is Over?

I’ll keep on craftin’!! (Oh yeah, and try to put a little more effort into homework and housework…if I can find the time – LOL!) :-)

I am looking forward to having more time to work on non-wedding related things. One of which is vinyl wall art. I’m having such a good time playing with vinyl and decorating our new house I’m just about ready to take orders from others. So…I invite you to poke around this awesome website www.myvinyldesigner.com for ideas. If you see something you like let me know because I’ll be ready to take orders in no time. Do not purchase the graphic, let me do that; your choice of design is included in the price. I just need to know the design number, the color you want, and the dimensions and I can get you a quote.

And be on the lookout for some custom pieces at the reception…specifically on the dance floor! Yep – you can use these pieces as temporary art to decorate for weddings, parties, etc. This material has a matte finish and looks almost like you’ve painted it on your wall, floor, etc. It’s a 3-year material and can be easily removed without harming the surface; great for temporary and short term decorating. I have a fair amount of colors in stock, but there are 48 color options! I have found that black, white, and brown look the best in most homes. However, if you like color or want to decorate a child’s room there are plenty shades of green, blue, pink and yellow to get as crazy as you like! And as always, I can personalize or custom design your decals if you have something specific in mind!!

Decorate Your Cupcakes

How fun are these?? Personalized laser cut cupcake liners!

Not sure if we’ll be using any at the wedding, but I wanted to see if I could make them. They’re  available in my Etsy Shop: http://ellezdesigns.etsy.com

New Vinyl Pieces

Here are a couple new vinyl pieces I put up:

A little kitty hiding in the corner of the kitchen.

And a little vine of flowers in our guest bathroom.

Andy said he’s glad the vinyl decals are removable. :-) I think they’re fun.

Improvise!

I wasn’t loving the flower girl baskets I found in the stores or online and I certainly didn’t want to pay the price they were asking if I didn’t really like it. While at the craft store I bought a cute little dark brown basket. I had Andy spray paint it black. I tried putting ribbons on it but that wasn’t doing it for me either. So I sat for a bit. I looked it up and down. I flipped it around. I looked around my super fun workshop and spotted the fabric I bought for the cupcake tower but didn’t use. ZING! That ought to do it! So I pulled out a mess of supplies and started playing.

My Mess

Here’s what you can do with some scrap fabric, ribbon & glue:

I think Aaliyah will like it. :-) It kinda reminds me of this AWESOME line of kid’s stuff I found called Little Miss Matched.  Stripes and dots and squiggles, oh my!  :-)

Short Update

Whew! 10 minutes ago Renee & I sealed the very last invitation. 214 of those bad boys are headed out tomorrow  to friends and family. That was QUITE a project. But it was so much fun!

Tonight Renee & I are headed to try on my beloved wedding gown then take it to the seamstress!!! Maybe I’ll post some photos if Andy can promise not to peek!!

Eeek!! The countdown is on and it’s all becoming so real now. I have a feeling I may go through some wedding craft withdrawal once this is all over. LOL
