Andy’s New Baby
This is what you get when you cross boredom with an aimless trip to Wal-Mart:
We visited Andy’s hometown this weekend but found little to do on Saturday night. So we headed to Wal-Mart to get a few little things and ended up getting a pretty big thing – a PlayStation 3!! We’ve discussed getting a PS3 or a Wii for some time so it’s not like it was a TOTALLY impulsive purchase, but I was kinda trying to hold out until his birthday, which is about a month away. Well, guess I better cross that off the list of potential gifts!
Just an FYI to anyone thinking of getting a game system, the base price DOES NOT include everything you need. Oh no. You have to buy a second controller, a ridiculously priced game or two, and special cables so you get the best quality. So, although I had planned on getting one of these, this was my first rodeo and I did not plan on all the extras that were necessary. Yikes!
The nice thing about the PS3 is that it has Blu-Ray. With all our movie-watching we can now enjoy super crisp movies on our giant TV. Since I’m not much of a gamer I guess that’s what I get out of the deal. 
Once we got home I decided this was probably really bad timing. We start our summer classes tomorrow and will go three nights a week. I have a feeling this is what Andy will be doing every spare moment he gets:
Working on Registries
Registering *should* be fun, and it is. Don’t get me wrong, it is. But it’s kinda stressful too. I’m the kind of person who wants a million things when I don’t have the budget for it but when I can have it I have no clue what I want!
Andy & I went to register one night and we didn’t get a whole lot on the registry. I kept saying “no, we don’t really NEED that, do we?” or “where are we going to put all this stuff?” I think I was spoiling his fun. He was loving the registry gun–What? You want this item? Ready, aim, zap! Zap! Zap! Zap! Okay, maybe we don’t need four of those…etc.
We’ll have to try it again sometime. For anyone interested we’ve posted a Registry/Wish List page if you look at the top of the blog. Maybe we should register for a storage unit to put our gifts until we get into a bigger house?!

New Rings!
My original engagement ring is on the left; While I love, love, LOVE it, we were unable to find a suitable wedding band that would sit nicely next to it due to the tapered center (which you can’t really see in this photo). I was totally fine not having a wedding band and suggested I keep the one ring as an all-in-one engagement & wedding ring. Partly because I thought most diamond bands take away from the simple beauty of my solitaire and most were just too much on my hand. But Andy really wanted me to have a band too, he didn’t think it was right to not have two bands. So, we compromised and found another beautiful diamond & pink sapphire set. We will have my princess cut stone remounted on the set on the right. I *wish* the pink stones were that deep colored in person, but they are a much lighter pink in person. Oh well. I still love it!
