Trying Out My (soon to be) New Name

I was in the mood to “make something,” which happens every now and then, so I settled on some colorful wall letters for above our dining room entryway. After a trip to Hobby Lobby to buy foam board and scrapbooking paper, I came home and laser cut letters out of foam board and fun paper, then decoupaged the paper to the foam board. I should’ve sprayed them with clear acrylic spray, but I got lazy and decided they were good enough.

This was a fun project. I think I’d like to do more!

Andy’s New Toy

We postponed our vacation in Florida to stay home and deal with this?! WHAT were we thinking?!

Bathroom Makeover

Thanks to some of our Christmas presents and gift cards Andy & I were able to redo our hideous bathroom to match our nicely remodeled kitchen that we did earlier this year (a la Andy, of course!) The people that lived here before us had that gross border up and I don’t think they prepared the walls well because when I took it off it scarred the walls. :::frown::: But, I tried to fix and hide it as best I could.

It’s still not *perfect* but the house is a hundred years old so we pretty much do what we can with what we have from where we are. The paint is a taupe color, but the lighting gives it a pinkish tint. There’s a few minor details left (like the outlet covers, you may notice) but it’s still a significant improvement.  We love the rounded shower curtain! It gives Andy the Giant a little more room in the shower.

Check it out:

Invitations!!

I’ve been playing around with a few ideas to make our invitations, but I think we’ve decided on the following style. Andy loves the idea of the monogram on the front, which we will continue to use throughout the wedding.

Special Laser Cut Banner

These are going to take awhile to make, but they’re so much fun and I love them!

So Cute!

Aaliyah, my 7-year old niece/flower girl, told me today that she started a list of songs for us for our wedding. At the top of her list was Soda Pop by Britney Spears (old school Britney) and some Hannah Montana song. LOL I’ll probably see her tomorrow. Can’t wait to hear the rest of her list!

:)

Andy’s Favorite Red Headed Step Dog

Meet Tiger. He’s cute, loveable, and completely clueless. (Turn up your volume for proof.) LOL - it still gets him treats so I guess he’s the smart one.

FYI: That’s Max the big pug on the left, Tiger the confused Chihuahua in the middle, and Putter the hyper pug on the right. My three boys. I love ‘em to pieces.

Hibernation Mode: ON

The Movie Sack arrived!!! This giant bean bag type piece came in two boxes – an 83lbs. box with the vacuum packed movie sack, and a 5lbs box with the cover. You should’ve seen me try to get that huge thing in the house and out of the package!! Roll…PUSH…roll…PUSH!

Andy & I setup camp in the den on Friday, now called the “Movie Room” and it was like having our very own bed at the theaters – - AWESOME! We’ve made this our bed for the last two nights and I’m not sure we’ll ever sleep in our bedroom again.

:)

Merry Christmas to Us!

Andy and I got a screamin’ deal on a ginormous 63″ TV and we are so excited! It takes up the entire room! I just bumped up our Netflix to 3 DVDs at a time AND we’ll be getting a “movie sack” anyday now. What is a “movie sack” you ask? Imagine a giant bean-bag for adults. Only filled with pieces of foam, not those tiny little styrofoam beads. (I’ll post photos later!) I’d say we are pretty well set for hibernation this winter. Fun!
